Job Title: School Support Worker
Location: Various Schools Across Blackburn
Salary: £12.86 - £13.75 per annum
Contract Type: Full-Time / Term-Time Only
Start Date: September 2025
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Support Worker with proven experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people, providing tailored support within a nurturing school environment.
You will work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and external agencies to support pupils' educational, emotional and social development, helping to create an inclusive and positive learning atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aid with one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
- Provide personal care when required.
- Support pupils in developing independence, confidence and social skills.
- Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
- Promote safeguarding and the welfare of pupils at all times.
About You:
- Previous experience working with individuals with SEN is essential.
- A patient, empathetic and resilient nature.
- Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of a range of SEN needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and speech and language difficulties, is highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
