Job Advert: Support Worker Transitioning to Education
Location: Chorley
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent (Starting January)

Are you a dedicated Support Worker looking for a new challenge in education? Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a full-time role at a supportive and nurturing SEN school in Chorley. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

About the Role:

  • Start Date: January 2025.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Help students with autism, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, and other learning barriers.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to create a positive, inclusive environment where all students can thrive.
  • Build trust and strong relationships with students to promote engagement and progress.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in support work, care, or youth work, particularly with individuals with additional needs.
  • A proactive and patient approach to supporting children with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people reach their potential.

Requirements:

  • Availability for full-time work from January.
  • A valid Child Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
  • References covering the last two years of employment or study.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
