Support Worker for Children with SEN – Primary School in Blackpool

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Teaching Personnel is excited to offer an opportunity to work as a Support Worker at a primary school in Blackpool, helping children reach their full potential.

About the Role:

As a Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in assisting children with SEN within the classroom environment. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to ensure the children’s individual needs are met, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to children with a variety of SEN needs.

  • Assist with classroom activities and ensure an inclusive learning environment.

  • Work one-to-one or in small groups, offering personalized attention and guidance.

  • Help with the development and implementation of individual learning plans.

  • Support the emotional and social development of children, encouraging positive behavior.

  • Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and other professionals involved in the children’s education.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting (though not essential).

  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.

  • A proactive approach to supporting children’s learning and development.

  • Good communication skills, both with children and adults.
