Supply teacher for Humanities subjects for secondary schools in Havant

Job Description:

We are looking for enthusiastic and qualified Supply Teachers to cover a range of Humanities subjects, including History, Geography, and Religious Education, in secondary schools across Havant. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that adhere to curriculum guidelines and support students' academic progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons in various Humanities subjects to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Adapt and manage lessons effectively in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and ensure a safe and conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Provide feedback to students and collaborate with permanent staff to support student learning and development.
  • Follow school policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding and behaviour management.
  • Complete any necessary administrative tasks, such as marking and recording attendance.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A strong background in one or more Humanities subjects, such as History, Geography, or Religious Education.
  • Proven experience teaching Humanities subjects at the secondary school level.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK national curriculum for Humanities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to quickly adjust to different classroom environments.
  • The ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.
