PGCE Graduates Wanted – Summer Term Cover Supervisor Roles in Newport, Cwmbran & Pontypool

Location: Newport, Cwmbran, Pontypool
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: £110 – £115 per day
Sector: Secondary Education
Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (Summer Term)


Are you a PGCE student or recent PGCE graduate looking to gain essential teaching experience before achieving QTS? Teaching Personnel is currently hiring enthusiastic and motivated Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Newport, Cwmbran, and Pontypool this summer term.

This is a perfect opportunity for trainee teachers to earn, gain practical classroom experience, and build strong local school connections before applying for full-time teaching roles in September.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage secondary classrooms during teacher absences

  • Deliver pre-set lesson plans (no planning required!)

  • Maintain a positive and productive learning environment

  • Support student learning and development

  • Build rapport with students, staff, and parents


✅ What We're Looking For:

  • Current or recently completed PGCE students (awaiting QTS)

  • Eligibility to work in the UK

  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply)

  • Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
