Job description

Teaching Personnel work in partnership with an 11-16 coeducational secondary school. The school is graded ‘GOOD’ by Ofsted, with specific recognition for its strong academic outcomes and supportive learning environment. Located in Havant, it is easily accessible by car and public transport, with excellent connections to the surrounding area.

The school is currently seeking educators to join them on a predominantly ad-hoc basis to cover periods of absence among permanent teaching staff. This role is well-suited to early career teachers who have recently qualified or experienced teachers seeking additional work to complement a permanent position. It is also ideal for those looking to reduce their workload or adjust their working days.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will be:

By joining Teaching Personnel as a substitute teacher, you will manage classrooms in secondary schools on a short-term and/or long-term basis. You will oversee behaviour management, deliver pre-planned lessons, maintain a positive learning environment, and ensure all students complete their assigned work. You may frequently work in the same schools, allowing you to develop strong relationships with staff and pupils.

  • Addressing any immediate issues or emergencies as per school procedures.
  • Collecting and returning completed work to the appropriate teacher.
  • Reporting on any notable events or concerns from the lesson.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
