Teaching Assistant with a Passion for Sports in Bargoed

Location: Hengoed, Wales

Position: Teaching Assistant

Type: Full-Time (consistency is key)

Salary: £12.90 per hour (£83.85 per day)

About Us:

We are with a number of vibrant and inclusive school located in the heart of Bargoed. Our mission is to provide a supportive and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive. We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who can bring enthusiasm, energy, and a love of sports to our schools classrooms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Classroom Activities: Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities, particularly in physical education and sports.
  • One-on-One Support: Work with individual students or small groups to provide additional help where needed.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Lead or assist with sports clubs, after-school activities, and other events that promote physical activity.
  • Behaviour Management: Help maintain a positive and inclusive environment by supporting classroom behaviour management strategies.
  • General Administrative Duties: Assist with preparing teaching materials, setting up equipment, and other tasks as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Sporty and Active: A passion for sports and physical activity, with the ability to motivate and engage students in PE lessons and extracurricular activities.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with children, staff, and parents.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
  • Empathy and Patience: A supportive and understanding approach to working with children of all abilities.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting.
  • A background in sports, physical education, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare, teaching assistance, or sports coaching would be an advantage.
