Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant
Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team this Easter, at a vibrant and well-established secondary school in Rochdale. This exciting role offers the opportunity to support students across a range of subjects, with a focus on Physical Education (PE) and sport-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the PE department in delivering engaging lessons, activities, and sports sessions for students of all ages.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support for students, particularly those who may need additional guidance in physical activities.
- Help plan and organise extracurricular sports events, clubs, and competitions.
- Support teachers in classroom management and behavior management during PE lessons.
- Encourage student participation in physical activities, promoting a positive attitude toward health and fitness.
- Assist in preparing sports equipment and maintaining a safe and organized sports environment.
- Contribute to school-wide events and activities, such as sports day and after-school clubs.
Requirements:
- A degree in Sports Science, PE, or a related field.
- A passion for sport, physical education, and working with young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with young people, ideally in a school or sports coaching environment (desirable but not essential).
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to support the wider school community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
