Are you a recent sports graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a vibrant school environment? Teaching Personnel are working with a secondary school in Portsmouth who are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Sports Graduate Assistant to join their dynamic team from September until August next year.

As an all-through secondary school with a strong sporting tradition, they pride themselves on offering an outstanding sports programme to pupils across both the Junior and Senior sections. This is an exciting opportunity to work with young people of all ages and abilities, supporting their development and love for sport.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of high-quality coaching across a broad range of sports, including netball, hockey, rugby, cricket, athletics, and racket sports

• Assist in planning, organising, and delivering PE lessons, training sessions, and fixtures under the guidance of the Director of Sport, Assistant Director of Sport, and Head of PE

• Contribute to the wider life of the school’s sports department, including attending and supporting fixtures, tournaments, and school sports events

• Work with individual pupils and teams to support their skill development and enjoyment of sport

Candidate Requirements:

• A relevant sports degree or equivalent qualification

• A passion for sport and physical education with the ability to inspire and engage young people

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Willingness to work flexibly, including after school hours and on Saturdays during term time, in line with the school’s busy sporting calendar

• Experience in coaching or playing in one or more of the listed sports would be an advantage

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
