Exciting Opportunity as a Sports Coach and Teaching Assistant in Broadgreen Area!

A prestigious school in the Broadgreen area has approached me to find a skilled support assistant to take on a unique part-time role as a sports coach and teaching assistant. This individual will play a crucial role in building strong connections with the students and ensuring their academic and social development thrives.

The school boasts excellent transport links and has gained a stellar reputation for providing outstanding support to its primary school students. The Head teacher is highly motivated to implement this new full-time position, specifically targeting children with Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs who may require additional assistance. The job details are still being fine-tuned, as the allocation of funds for this role has only recently been confirmed.

As the chosen support assistant, you will work between 25-32 hours a week, dividing your time between sports coaching and pastoral mentoring. You will be providing personalized support, mostly on a one-on-one or small group basis, to children facing challenges integrating into the regular school environment due to various special educational needs.

This role comes with a special emphasis on improving social skills and fostering confidence through engaging sports activities. As part of your responsibilities, you'll also lead high-quality PE sessions and sports activities during break and lunch times.

Initially, the position will be offered on a temporary basis through Teaching Personnel, with the role starting in September 2024. The school holds a GOOD rating by Ofsted and maintains a strong reputation for excellence. The Head teacher is known for her approachability and ensures that new staff members receive ample support and guidance during their induction.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity that will make a significant impact on the lives of the students, particularly those facing greater challenges. The school seeks applicants who possess experience in a primary school setting, preferably with exposure to both KS1 and KS2. Additionally, candidates with qualifications and/or experience in delivering sports programs to young children will be given preference.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
