Speech and Language Teaching Assistant

Do you have experience working with children who have speech and language needs?

Are you a graduate looking for a way into working in the education sector?

Maybe you are a newly qualified or experienced Teaching Assistant?

Teaching Personnel are working with a primary school in the Hyde area of Tameside, who are seeking a TA who is Phonics trained or is confident with aiding Speech and Language development and would be comfortable running intervention groups.

The senior leadership team have identified a need to provide a more extensive approach to teaching Phonics, Reading and Writing at their school. The SLT are currently working with Teaching Personnel to utilise specialist and confident TAs to provide further interventions, allowing a more differentiated approach to learning.  The staff are excited to find a new member of their staff who are dedicated to providing the best education and committed to the progress of children, many of whom are below national age-related standards at the moment.

The Role:

  • Mostly SEND interventions
  • Phonics training preferred / confident with supporting good Speech and Language
  • SEND experience desirable
  • Some whole class support
  • Safeguarding experience within a school setting desirable
  • Ability to take direction
  • Support from class teacher and SENCO
  • Uses own initiative
  • A compassionate family-like atmosphere where every person is respected and valued.
  • PAYE rates of £77 - £85 per day
  • Weekly pay through school timesheets
  • Located SK14, easily accessible from anyone in Tameside/Surrounding areas
  • Great public transport links and on-site car park
  • Full time – Monday to Friday

The successful candidate should be a dedicated individual, who endeavours to provide consistently good planning and delivery of the curriculum. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
