We are looking for an outstanding Sociology with Social Science teacher to join a dynamic and high-performing team, contributing to the continued development of the curriculum. The ideal candidate will be able to teach Sociology at KS4 and KS5 and should be able to or willing to teach additional social science subjects.

Our Social Science department consistently achieves excellent results, well above the national average at both KS4 and KS5. Social Science subjects are highly popular across the school, and a significant number of students continue their studies at university in related fields.

The Social Sciences faculty offers a broad, balanced curriculum with both vocational and academic courses. Our courses are designed to inspire, challenge, and include all students. Through exploring a wide range of topics, such as health, mental health, the mind and behavior, and human relationships and institutions, students are encouraged to become independent, self-aware critical thinkers. They are also motivated to embrace and celebrate diversity and equality. By engaging in discussions on current events and societal issues, students develop a confident voice and gain valuable insights that help them understand their place in society, preparing them for personal and professional success.

The school is an oversubscribed 11-18 Academy with around 1,400 students on roll, including 200 Post-16 students. We were rated 'Good' by Ofsted in December 2019 and are now focused on advancing from good to great. As part of a growing educational trust, our staff are offered exciting opportunities for development and progression, making this an excellent time to join our team.

You will be joining a supportive and collaborative department, where planning and resources are shared, and team ethos is a priority.

The position will begin in Easter 2025, and we welcome applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) as well as those seeking part-time opportunities.

With our Trust expanding, further career development opportunities are likely to arise in the near future.
