The Role

As Head of Department, you will:

  • Lead and develop one of our core subject areas (Mathematics, Science, English, or Spanish).
  • Inspire excellence in teaching and learning for students, laying the foundation for their future success.
  • Design and implement innovative schemes of work that cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Mentor and support teachers within your department to reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with other departments to drive cross-curricular initiatives and uphold the school’s ethos of holistic education.
  • Monitor and evaluate the department’s performance, ensuring high standards of achievement.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a proven track record of excellence in teaching and leadership within their subject area.
  • Be an enthusiastic and forward-thinking educator who embraces new challenges.
  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Show commitment to developing a vibrant and inclusive school culture.
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant experience in secondary education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
