Slough Tutors Required
Job description
Here at TPTUTORS we are looking to build our tutor talent pool to be able to support our clients with all types of student referrals.
Job Description:
We are currently seeking experienced tutors to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a high level of experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and be willing to work around 10-15 hours per week on a part-time basis. We also do have roles that vary in hours starting from 1 per week. Each referral requires patience and a focus on delivering tuition in the core subjects – we also occasionally get referrals for other subjects too such as business studies or languages. We provide both in person (taking place in the students’ home or a public area such as a library or community centre) and online tuition to Local Authorities and Schools.
Job Duties:
- Provide tailored educational support to students with SEN in whatever subject is requested. The materials/lesson plans will need to be provided by yourself as the tuition allows you to showcase your own ability to gain educational progress with the student.
- Provide session reports after each session using our virtual reporting platform. The reports are monitored/viewed by both the consultant and the client. They are used within annual meetings and EHCP meetings, so it is important that they are filled out with as much detail as possible. The report submission also then submits your pay for that session to pay role.
- Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly. This will require flexibility and understanding that every day will be different – you will need to be patient and able to adapt on the spot. On our virtual reporting platform, you will have access to assessments that can be done at the start/end of tuition as a way of measuring progress.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and the relevant consultant to your booking. Ensure that you make the consultant aware of any challenges as we are here to support you and to safeguard everyone involved.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
- A degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of tutoring or teaching experience
- Strong knowledge of the UK education system
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions:
- Part-time hours – can be anything from 1< per week
- Temporary positions that typically last until a student gains a school placement, some of our roles last over many academic years.
- Flexible schedule based on yours/student availability. Sessions will sometimes have requests for times/days however the majority of the time the sessions can be arranged between yourself and the parent/carer.
If you are successful, we will require:
- A Microsoft teams conversation with you to go over the process in more details/find out about your experience
- DBS on the update service (we can provide the application link if you don’t have one however this cost will be your responsibility due to it being a private document.)
- Career history covering 10 years
- Gain references to cover 5 years
- Proof of right to work
- Proof of address
- Safeguarding training certificate (we provide you with the training)
- Proof of name change (if one is required)
- Overseas criminal clearance (is one is required)
- Professional photograph for your profile
