Location: Alnwick
Position: Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)
Working Hours: Monday - Friday (Afternoons) + Full Day on Friday
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Until Summer

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our friendly primary school in Alnwick. This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 2 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to the pupil, promoting learning and development.

  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment.

  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school team.

  • Support the pupil’s emotional well-being and social skills.

  • Implement strategies to manage challenging behavior effectively.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of SEND and SEMH.

  • Experience working with vulnerable children is highly desirable.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.

  • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
