SEND Teacher (Full-Time, Permanent)

Location: Mid-Cornwall
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive (Pay to Scale)

We are seeking a passionate and skilled SEND Teacher to join our specialist school in Mid-Cornwall. About the Role

As a SEND Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), complex learning difficulties, and communication needs.
  • Create a nurturing and structured learning environment that supports pupils’ emotional, social, and academic development.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and other support staff to provide holistic support tailored to each pupil.
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching strategies to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
  • Promote positive behaviour management and use a range of strategies to support pupils with complex needs.
  • Foster strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent SEND teaching qualifications.
✔ Experience in teaching pupils with SEND, ideally in a specialist or inclusive setting.
✔ A creative and adaptable approach to teaching, with the ability to personalise learning.
✔ Strong knowledge of differentiation strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners.
✔ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
✔ A compassionate, patient, and resilient nature.
✔ Experience working with pupils with ASD, complex learning needs, or communication difficulties (desirable).
