Job description

Full-Time SEND Learning Support Assistant – York

Teaching Personnel is looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in York. This full-time role is perfect for someone passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

The Role:

✅ Supporting students with SEND on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
✅ Assisting the class teacher in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment
✅ Implementing tailored learning strategies to meet individual student needs
✅ Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional well-being
✅ Helping students develop independence and confidence

The Ideal Candidate:

Experience working with children with SEND (desired but not essential)
A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to learning support
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A willingness to undergo training and development
A valid DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply)
