Job description

Looking for a Patient, Supportive Tutor for SEN Children

Are you a compassionate and dedicated tutor with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have the skills to help students regain their confidence and close gaps in their education in a nurturing, home-based environment?

We are looking for a patient and understanding tutor to work one-on-one with children who may have faced challenges in their learning journey. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who need that extra support to catch up and feel empowered in their learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored, engaging lessons in a range of subjects
  • Work closely with parents and caregivers to identify specific needs and learning goals
  • Offer a calm, positive, and encouraging approach to help build the child's confidence
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit each child’s individual learning style and pace
  • Support children in overcoming educational gaps, focusing on key foundational skills

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with SEN children (including those with learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, etc.)
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching
  • Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with parents and carers
  • A background in education, special needs support, or relevant qualifications (preferred but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
