Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (x3)
Location: Dorset
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-time

Our client, a dedicated SEN school in Dorset, is looking for three enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to support children with a range of special educational needs, providing them with the guidance and encouragement they need to thrive in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with a variety of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.

  • Assist in delivering tailored learning activities under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to help students engage with their learning.

  • Use positive behaviour strategies to support emotional and social development.

  • Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement individual education plans (IEPs).

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

  • Support students with personal care needs where necessary.

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience working with SEN students in a school or care setting is desirable.

  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting children with additional needs.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • A passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.

  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support are advantageous but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
