SEN Teaching Assistant
Job description
An award-winning SEN school group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join the permanent team at their alternative site in Wakefield. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in a nurturing, supportive environment, working with children and young people with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering engaging, tailored lessons
- Provide one-on-one and group assistance to students
- Help manage classroom behaviour
- Assist with personal care and emotional well-being, when necessary
Requirements:
- Experience working with SEN students (preferred but not essential)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A patient, empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs
- A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or willingness to work towards it)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
