Job description

Job Advert: SEN Teaching Assistant

A highly reputable SEMH/SEN school group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join the permanent staff at their Towcester site from January 2025 or sooner. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive environment focused on the individual needs of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH/SEN needs in classroom activities.
  • Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to enhance student outcomes.
  • Monitor and record student progress and behavior.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in education or child development (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
  • Experience working with children with SEMH/SEN needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
