SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (1:1 Support) – Torquay
Start Date: End of April 2025
Contract: Full-Time (Mon–Fri), Temp to Potential Permanent
Location: Torquay, Devon
Salary: £92-£100 per day (dependent on experience)

Are you an experienced and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next rewarding opportunity? Teaching Personnel is working closely with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Torquay seeking a dedicated SEN TA to provide 1:1 support for a child with learning difficulties.

The Role:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday during school hours

  • Supporting a primary-aged student on a 1:1 basis

  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionals

  • Creating a positive and nurturing environment tailored to the child’s needs

  • Role starts end of April and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential to become long-term or permanent for the right person

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working within education settings, particularly SEN

  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children and staff

  • A patient, calm, and empathetic approach

  • Confident supporting children with learning difficulties and additional needs

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply through us)

  • Right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
