We believe in fostering a supportive atmosphere for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), and we are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our team.
Job Description:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant at our school, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and emotional development of students with a variety of special educational needs, including but not limited to autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and physical disabilities.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities that meet the individual needs of students with SEN.
- Providing one-to-one or small group support to students both inside and outside the classroom.
- Helping students with daily tasks and ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the school day.
- Supporting students in developing their social skills and promoting positive behaviour.
- Working closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement personalized learning plans and track student progress.
- Contributing to the creation of a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
- Communicating effectively with parents and external professionals where appropriate.
Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about working with children and making a real difference in their lives. The successful candidate will possess:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs (ideal, but not essential).
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A commitment to providing high-quality support and ensuring the welfare of students.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) or a willingness to undertake appropriate training.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
