ASC Teaching Assistant

At Teaching Personnel we are recruiting a hardworking, compassionate Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) teaching assistant to work 1 to 1 in a primary school or a specialist teaching facility (STF). Schedule: Monday to Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm)
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguarding children
- Work on a 1:1 basis and in small groups supporting the individual in and out of the classroom
- Assist in developing and implementing individualised interventions and strategies.
- Monitor pupils behaviour, promote positive behaviour and emotional resilience
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to adapt lesson content and create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Support individual during unstructured times such as lunch and break times.
- Encourage social interaction with other pupils
- Build positive relationships with the individual and other pupils whilst acting as a role model and building trust.
Requirements
- Minimum of GCSE’s in English and Mathematics
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
- Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to pass enhanced DBS checks.
- Driving Licence ( not essential but preferred)
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience working with ASC needs or other ALN needs, preferably in an education or care setting
- A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to working with the individual
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
- Positive attitude, excellent work ethic, and a proactive approach to problem solving
Ability to deal with challenging behaviour and seek support when required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
