We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner schools in the Stockport area.

The Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within the classroom. Your responsibilities will include working closely with teachers to provide tailored assistance, helping students with their learning, and ensuring that each child receives the support they need to succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support: Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, adapting teaching methods to meet their individual needs.
  • Classroom Assistance: Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
  • Resource Preparation: Help prepare and organize learning materials and resources tailored to the needs of SEN students.
  • Personal Care: Provide personal care and assistance to students when necessary, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track and report on the progress of students, contributing to the development and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to support students' development.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children with SEN is desirable, but not essential.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Patience and Empathy: A compassionate and understanding approach to working with students who have diverse needs.
  • Flexibility: The ability to adapt to varying situations and respond effectively to the needs of the students.
  • DBS Check: An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
