he Sheffield Branch of Teaching Personnel are currently seeking to recruit a full time Teaching Assistant to assist within a Integrated resource, supporting SEN pupils in the North Sheffield area.

The responsibility of the SEN Teaching Assistant will be to support the Class Teacher but to also support a pupil on a 1:1 basis with Special Educational Needs. The ideal candidate will have an existing understanding of how to support those with additional needs, alongside practical knowledge, and skills.

Full Time

Pay: £77 - £90

The Role:

  • To facilitate the physical and emotional development of children attending the school, whilst supporting in an academic capacity
  • To monitor pupils progress and achievements on an individual basis – Writing up reports and passing these on to the designated supervisor
  • To promote independent learning through reinforcement of positive behaviours through praise and encouragement
  • To establish good working relationships with pupils – Working 1-2-1 with students to scaffold learning, as appropriate
  • To assist the teacher in setting up learning activities in the classroom and engaging with these to facilitate pupil engagement during lessons
  • Develop a good understanding of pupil’s needs in order to support effectively through individualised interventions
  • Preparation of resources of lessons and activities

Requirements:

  • GCSE English/Maths at grade A-C (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in the Education or Care Sector

  • Teaching Personnel work exclusively with a number of schools and multi-academy trusts across Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, and Doncaster

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
