Learning Support Assistant Needed for a high needs SEND School
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a new role? Would you like to build meaningful relationships and make a positive impact? We are working with a high needs Special Educational Needs school in Portsmouth, who require a Teaching Assistant to join the team, where you'll play a vital role supporting children with profound and complex needs.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work directly with pupils who have severe and complex needs, including:
- Severe learning disabilities and physical disabilities
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Down syndrome
- Communication challenges, sensory impairments, and medical needs
Your role will involve assisting with the implementation of bespoke learning activities, personal care, and therapy support to help each child reach their potential in a safe and inclusive environment.
Requirements:
- Experience working with pupils with profound needs, including managing challenging behaviour.
- A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach to supporting students.
- Commitment to full-time hours and flexibility to meet the needs of each student.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
