Mental Health Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a compassionate team at a school specializing in supporting young children with a range of Social Emotional Mental Health needs (SEMH). This role is ideal for someone who is dedicated to nurturing vulnerable young learners and creating a secure, trusting learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide bespoke, one-on-one and group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to implement personalised learning and support plans for pupils.
• Adapt your approach to support the emotional, social, and academic development of each child.
• Build meaningful relationships rooted in trust, encouragement, and understanding.
• Maintain an awareness of safeguarding procedures and protocols at all times. 

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience working with children with SEN/SEMH. 
• A patient, resilient, and adaptive approach to providing individualized support.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build connections with young, vulnerable pupils.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and families to best meet each child’s needs.
• Adaptability and felxibility to support the changing needs of pupils. 
• Team Teach or PRICE trained, or willingness to attend training in these areas.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
