SEN Teaching Assistant - Poole (Specialist School)
Location: Poole, Dorset
Position: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Start Date: September 2024

The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be an essential part of a team that provides tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and communication difficulties. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the implementation of personalized learning plans and strategies
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to help students achieve their educational goals
- Supporting students with daily routines and personal care when necessary
- Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and development
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor progress and adapt support as needed
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a special school or similar setting
- A compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to supporting students with diverse needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to adapt to the unique challenges of each student
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certification, are advantageous but not required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
