SEN Learning Support Assistant
- Part-time, Monday to Friday 12:00pm - 3:30pm
- Supporting a child with autism in reception class
- Primary School in Burnley
- SEND experience within the education sector required, Autism experience preferable
Teaching Personnel have been approached by a large Primary school in Padiham to recruit a part-time SEN Support Assistant to work closely with a child with ASD in their reception class. The role is to commence as soon as possible. Teaching Personnel have worked closely with the school for a number of years to provide them with high calibre staff. High standards must be maintained, and the successful candidate must therefore be experienced in working with children with autism, come with excellent references and be highly dependable. There is the potential for the position to continue on to a school's contract for the right person in the future.
The school has a supportive and long standing SLT who encourage staff to undertake a variety of CPD courses throughout the academic year. To be considered for the role, you must be passionate about the wellbeing and safety of children.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Supporting a pupil with Autism on a 1:1 basis, in order to support their learning.
- Taking direction from class teachers, SLT and senior support staff and completing tasks to a high level.
- Have patience and a caring and understanding nature.
- Be able to use own initiative and act accordingly without having to be directed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
