SEN Teaching Assistant (Full Time) – Okehampton

Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner schools in Okehampton. This full-time, temp-to-perm position provides an excellent opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of students with special educational needs (SEN).

The school in Okehampton specializes in supporting students with SEN, offering a nurturing, inclusive environment. With tailored learning programs, the school helps children with autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties achieve their full potential. The dedicated staff foster a safe and supportive space where students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized 1:1 and group support to students with diverse SEN needs, including autism and ADHD.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Help students manage their behaviour, emotions, and social interactions.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Support classroom activities, ensuring students are engaged and feel supported.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience with SEN children is beneficial but not essential.
  • Demonstrates patience, flexibility, and understanding in challenging situations.
  • Committed to making a positive impact on the lives of young people.
  • Male applicants are preferred to meet the specific needs of certain students.
