SEN Teaching Assistants with ASD Experience Required
Location: Northampton
Start Date: ASAP/January 2025
Job Type: Full-Time - Monday to Friday - 8.15am to 3.15pm
Pay: £88 - £195 per day (Depending on Experience - Paid through PAYE)
Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work with students who have special educational needs, providing tailored support to help them achieve their potential. You will work closely with the teaching staff and SENCO to deliver high-quality, inclusive education in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with special educational needs.
- Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans.
- Support students in both classroom and non-classroom settings, ensuring their full participation in all aspects of school life.
- Foster a positive, supportive learning environment that meets the individual needs of each student.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher to plan, differentiate, and adapt lessons according to the needs of SEN students.
- Provide assistance with daily routines, including personal care where necessary.
- Monitor and record student progress, reporting back to teachers and SENCO.
- Assist with the supervision of students during lunch and break times.
- Participate in meetings with parents, teachers, and other professionals to discuss progress and strategies for SEN students.
- Support after-school activities and extended learning sessions on two days per week, up to 6:00 PM.
Key Requirements:
- At least 1 years experience working with children with special educational needs in an educational setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of various SEN conditions, including Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting children with diverse needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
