Teaching personnel currently have some exciting opportunities starting in September for SEN teaching assistants in Newbury and surrounding areas! - Thatcham, Welford, Stockcross and Hungerford. 

As a SEN Teaching Assistant your responsibilities will include: 

  • Supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and/or Autism and/or Complex Learning Needs.
  • Provide education and emotional support to all young learners within the school
  • Work with other staff members to ensure pupil’s progress is monitored and adjusted to meet the pupil’s needs
  • Be confident in your approach when engaging with learners with SEMH and/or Autism

We are keen to speak to people about SEN Teaching Assistant roles with the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in supporting young people with Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs (SEMH) and/or Autism
  • Experience in supporting pupils in a specialist provision would be ideal but we are also keen to hear from mainstream teaching Assistants looking to move to an SEN setting
  • The successful SEN TA must share the school’s ethos of working as a whole school team to ensure all the pupil’s academic and emotional needs are met

Experience helping students in a specialist facility would be excellent, however we are also interested in hearing from mainstream teaching assistants looking to relocate to a SEN environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
