About Us:

We are currently seeking a passionate and committed Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in Manchester. This role is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about supporting students with diverse learning needs and helping them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs in their learning and development within the classroom environment.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering tailored lessons that accommodate individual learning styles and requirements.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students during lessons, ensuring they remain engaged and focused.
  • Help create an inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes positive behavior and social interaction among students.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding individual achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other staff members, including SEN coordinators, to develop effective strategies for supporting students with additional needs.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN education.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, particularly with SEN students.
  • A relevant qualification such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of young people.
  • An understanding of various learning difficulties and strategies to support these learners effectively.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
