SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) - Secondary School - South Manchester

Start Date: ASAP

Location: South Manchester

Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (with potential for permanent position)

Salary: £420 to £450 per week.

Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Teaching Personnel are working with a thriving secondary school in South Manchester, who are looking to appoint a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join their supportive team immediately.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a range of learning difficulties and disabilities, helping them access the curriculum and develop essential life skills. You will provide tailored support to individual students or small groups, ensuring they can achieve their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support for students with SEN
  • Assist in the delivery of differentiated lessons and resources
  • Promote inclusion and support students with both academic and social development
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other support staff

Support students during extracurricular activities and school trips when required

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is preferred, but not essential
  • Passionate about making a positive difference in students’ lives
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
