Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Specialist Teaching Assistants to join outstanding schools across Westminster, Hammersmith & Fulham, and Kensington & Chelsea. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN) in supportive and inclusive school environments.
Position: SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant
Locations: Schools across Westminster, Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea
Contract Type: Full-time (5 days a week, Monday to Friday)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm daily
Start Date: 22nd April 2025
Salary: £90 - £110 Per day (Depending on experience) Paided through PAYE.
About the Role:
As an SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to support children with a range of special educational needs, including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and physical disabilities. Your role will be instrumental in helping pupils access the curriculum, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, adapting learning materials as needed.

Assist with personal care, mobility, and sensory needs where required.

Implement EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets and track progress.

Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to support pupil development.

Use specialist strategies (e.g., PECS, Makaton, TEACCH) where appropriate.
Requirements:

Experience supporting children with SEN (in a school, care, or specialist setting).

Understanding of SEN conditions (ASD, ADHD, MLD, SLD, SEMH, etc.).

Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with complex needs.

Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, SEN TA training, Team Teach) are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
