Year 4 SEN Teaching Assistant (Specialising in ASD)

Location: Kensington, London
Position Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

About the Role

They are seeking an experienced and empathetic Year 4 SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in supporting children with ASD. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to provide tailored support for students with additional needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support to children with ASD.
  • Adapting learning materials and strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Supporting students' emotional well-being and social development.
  • Assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure effective support.
  • Encouraging independence and building confidence in the classroom environment.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have prior experience working with children with ASD in a school setting.
  • Possess a good understanding of strategies to support children with SEN.
  • Be patient, compassionate, and proactive in their approach.
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
