Job description

1-2-1 Teaching Assistant – ADHD and Autism Support

Location: Crawley
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: £12.90 per hour
Start Date: ASAP

We are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to provide 1-2-1 support for a child with ADHD and autism in a mainstream primary school in Crawley.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with ADHD, autism, or other SEN needs.
  • Strong understanding of neurodiverse learning strategies and behaviour management.
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual support tailored to the child’s needs.
  • Use strategies to help with emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
  • Work closely with teachers and parents to ensure consistent support.
  • Adapt learning activities to help the child progress academically and personally.
  • Keep parents updated on progress and offer advice for home support.

About You:

  • Experience in primary school SEN support.
  • Familiar with the Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Code of Practice.
  • Patient, adaptable, and able to handle dynamic situations.
  • Committed to creating a supportive and inclusive classroom.

  • £12.90/hour PAYE (no timesheets).

  • Help with DBS and EWC registration if needed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
