Day-to-Day SEN Teaching Assistant – Chorley

Are you looking for flexible work in a rewarding environment? We are seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Teaching Assistants to provide day-to-day support at a specialist SEN school in Chorley.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience in SEN education, supporting children with a range of learning needs, including autism and communication difficulties. Whether you're looking for occasional work or regular assignments, we can offer flexible opportunities to suit your availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students in the classroom with their learning and development
  • Providing 1:1 or small group support where needed
  • Encouraging independence and engagement in activities
  • Assisting with sensory and communication needs
  • Working closely with teaching staff to create a positive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people (education, care, or youth work preferred)
  • A patient, proactive, and compassionate approach
  • Understanding of SEN, particularly autism (desirable but not essential)
  • Flexibility to work on a short-notice basis

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
