We are actively looking for SEN teaching assistants for a primary school in the Carmarthen area.

Role Details

Jobe Title: ALN Teaching Assistant (TA)

Sector: Primary School Key Stage 1

Job Type: Full Time

Start Date: 06/01/2025

Location: Carmarthen

Schedule: Monday to Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm)

Key Responsibilities

-          Safeguarding children

-          Support children in developing essential skills, such as communication, social interaction, and independence

-          Assist teachers in developing and implementing individualised learning plans

-          Monitor and record student progress, communicating effectively with staff and parents

-          Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment

-          Adapt quickly to different school settings and build rapport with students and colleagues

-          Participate in training and professional development opportunities to further enhance your skills and knowledge in ALN support

Requirements

-          Minimum of GCSE’s in English and Mathematics

-          Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA or SEN certification) are desirable but not essential

-          Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to pass enhanced DBS checks.

-          Driving Licence ( not essential but preferred)

What We Are Looking For

-          Previous experience working with ALN children, preferably in an education or care setting

-          A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children

-          Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff

-          Positive attitude, excellent work ethic, and a proactive approach to problem solving

-          Ability to deal with challenging behaviour and seek support when required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
