We are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded educational setting in Bournemouth from April 2025.

This Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ school provides a supportive and enriching learning environment tailored for students with special educational needs.
Catering to students from Year 7 to Year 11, the school supports those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Additionally, many pupils may be on the autism spectrum (ASC) or have Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) such as dyslexia, ADHD, or speech, language, and communication needs.
With a strong commitment to inclusivity and well-being, the school nurtures a caring and dynamic community, empowering every student to reach their full potential both academically and personally.
The school operates from 8.30 am to 4pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Your Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide personalised support tailored to each student's learning style and needs.
- Promote emotional and social well-being, ensuring a safe and encouraging environment.
- Assist teachers in creating inclusive learning experiences, tracking progress, and building students' confidence.
- Develop engaging learning strategies under the guidance of the teacher.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and safeguarding concerns.
- Collaborate with specialists, such as speech and language therapists, to support student development.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience supporting children or adults with special educational needs.
- While not essential, a willingness to assist with personal care when required would be beneficial.
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent)..
- Adaptability and a willingness to support varied learning styles.
- A patient, caring, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure, ensuring students feel supported.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
