About Us:
We are a trusted supply agency working closely with schools across the Dorset area. We’re currently seeking a committed, experienced, and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within primary schools.

The Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. Working closely with the classroom teacher, you will help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for children who require additional assistance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored support to students with SEN in both one-on-one and small group settings
  • Assisting with classroom management and ensuring students are engaged in their learning
  • Implementing individualized learning plans in collaboration with teachers and SEN coordinators
  • Helping with emotional and social development, promoting positive behaviour and well-being
  • Supporting students with personal care where necessary

The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone who is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of students with SEN. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with SEN students
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with a range of learning needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Relevant qualifications (such as an NVQ or Teaching Assistant qualification) are preferred, but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
