SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Blackburn

Hours: Full-Time, 8:45am - 3:15pm 

Pay Rate: £12.90 - £13.50 per hour (dependent on experience) 

Start Date: ASAP 

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant school community in Blackburn. As a crucial member of our Key Stage 2 team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of our pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Role Responsibilities:

-          Provide tailored support and assistance to pupils with SEN, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and are able to fully engage in classroom activities.

-          Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies designed by the SENCO and teaching staff.

-          Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.

-          Assist with personal care and social development as required by individual pupil needs.

-          Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for pupils with SEN.

Essential Requirements:

-          Experience working with children with SEN, preferably within a primary school setting.

-          A patient and empathetic approach, with a genuine passion for supporting the educational development of children with diverse needs.

-          Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

-          Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support would be advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
