Job Title: Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

Are you passionate about making a real difference in children’s lives? Teaching Personnel, the UK’s leading education recruitment agency, is looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants to work 1:1 with pupils in schools across Bedford.

Role Overview
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils who may need additional help to achieve their full potential. Working closely with the class teacher and other school staff, you will deliver personalised learning plans, assist with classroom activities, and foster a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
-         Provide 1:1 support to pupils, addressing their individual academic and social needs.
-         Assist with lesson preparation, ensuring resources are ready for use.
-         Encourage pupils’ confidence and independence while maintaining a nurturing and supportive atmosphere.
-         Support students with additional needs, such as SEND or behavioural challenges, as directed by the school.
-         Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to track and celebrate pupil progress.

Requirements
-         Previous experience working with children, ideally in an educational or care setting.
-         A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with young people.
-         Ability to adapt to the individual needs of pupils and a flexible attitude to different school environments.
-         Excellent communication skills and a commitment to safeguarding children.
-         A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
