SEN Teaching Assistant Required- Barnsley (S70)

-         Full-time Position

-         Start date: May 2023

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a SEN Provision situated in the Barnsley area. The school caters for pupils aged between 4 and 19 who have generic learning difficulties, autism and sensory processing disorders. Many pupils who attend this school struggle with their speech, language, and communication. The pupils who attend this school benefit from an individualised and abridged curriculum providing pupils with meaningful learning experiences which are aimed at promoting their development needs.

The school are seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant who can provide support in a complex class. The role includes, providing academic support, providing personal care and deescalating challenging situations. Most of the pupils in this class are non-verbal.

The school are willing to provide CPD training for the right person – Including:

-         Moving and Handling Training

-         Team Teach

The school require positive individuals which can make a palpable impact on the students at the school. The perfect candidate should be empathetic, an excellent communicator and compassionate. The candidate should help support the needs of each individual pupil and want to help them to achieve their goal.

The school will consider applications from candidates who have previous experience supporting people with SEND, have previous care experience or those willing to do training upon the subject.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
