Job description

Are you passionate about supporting primary school students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have the enthusiasm and commitment to help students thrive in a supportive and inclusive environment? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our primary school as a Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant.

About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant in our Primary school, you will support students with a variety of special educational needs. Your role will involve assisting teachers in delivering inclusive lessons, providing one-to-one and small group support, and ensuring that all students have the opportunity to reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support primary school students with various special educational needs in both one-to-one and small group settings
  • Assist teachers with the planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons
  • Provide academic support to help students meet their individual learning goals
  • Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment for all students
  • Help students with personal care and mobility where necessary
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCO, and other staff members
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher
  • Support students’ emotional and behavioural needs in a constructive and positive manner

About You:

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have a positive, enthusiastic attitude toward supporting primary school students with SEN
  • Are eager to develop new skills and gain experience working in an educational setting
  • Have a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Are patient, empathetic, and proactive in supporting student development
  • Have excellent communication skills, both with students and staff
  • Are flexible, adaptable, and able to work well as part of a team
  • A qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (Level 2 or 3) is beneficial but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
