Special Education Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

Location: NG5, Nottingham

Salary: £83.85 - £95 Per Day

Job Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available

Job Description: Our client based in Nottingham, NG5, is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and personal development of students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Individualised Support: Provide tailored assistance to students with special educational needs, ensuring equal opportunities for academic and social development.
  2. Collaboration: Work closely with classroom teachers, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and other professionals to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to the overall educational experience of students.
  3. Inclusive Learning: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the social and emotional well-being of students with SEN.
  4. Communication: Regularly engage with parents/guardians, providing updates on student progress and collaborating on strategies for continued improvement.
  5. Resource Management: Effectively use available resources, materials, and technology to enhance the learning experience for students with special educational needs.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant is desirable.

• A genuine passion for working with students with special educational needs.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.

• Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, TAQA, or equivalent) are advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
