We are a supportive and inclusive secondary school located in Amersham, dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Our mission is to ensure that every student can reach their potential academically, socially, and emotionally. We are now looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team.

Role Overview:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to support students with a range of learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. You will provide one-to-one and small group support, adapt learning materials, and ensure that students are fully included in all classroom activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with SEN in the classroom, both individually and in small groups.

• Assist in adapting learning materials to meet students' individual needs.

• Help students to complete tasks and understand lesson content.

• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers to track development.

• Encourage positive behaviour, social integration, and emotional well-being.

• Contribute to the development and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

• Assist with personal care and physical support where required.

• Support students during school activities, including trips.

• Communicate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure effective support.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience supporting students with SEN, ideally in a secondary school.

• Knowledge of various Special Educational Needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with students, parents, and staff.

• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
