We are a supportive and inclusive secondary school located in Amersham, dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Our mission is to ensure that every student can reach their potential academically, socially, and emotionally. We are now looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team.
Role Overview:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to support students with a range of learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. You will provide one-to-one and small group support, adapt learning materials, and ensure that students are fully included in all classroom activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Support students with SEN in the classroom, both individually and in small groups.

Assist in adapting learning materials to meet students' individual needs.

Help students to complete tasks and understand lesson content.

Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers to track development.

Encourage positive behaviour, social integration, and emotional well-being.

Contribute to the development and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Assist with personal care and physical support where required.

Support students during school activities, including trips.

Communicate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure effective support.
Skills and Qualifications:

Experience supporting students with SEN, ideally in a secondary school.

Knowledge of various Special Educational Needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with students, parents, and staff.

Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
