Special Educational Needs (SEN) Behaviour Teaching Assistant!

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join our supportive school in Accrington.

Position: SEN Behaviour Teaching Assistant
Location: Accrington
Type: Full-time
Salary: £12.90 - £14 (per hour)

Key Responsibilities:

-          Support children with various behavioural and emotional needs in the classroom (SEMH – social, emotional and mental health)

-          Assist teachers in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

-          Provide one-on-one and small group support to encourage positive behaviour and learning.

-          Foster a nurturing environment that promotes social and emotional development.

-          Collaborate with parents, teachers, and external agencies to create a holistic approach to each child’s education.

What We’re Looking For:

-          Experience working with children with SEN, particularly in behaviour support.

-          Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

-          Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

-          Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

-          Relevant qualifications in education or childcare (desirable but not essential).

-          A minimum of Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (or be able to complete our online Level 2 Teaching Assistant Diploma).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
