Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher with a passion for working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? A school in Shaftesbury is looking for a SEND Teacher to join their team and make a meaningful impact on students’ learning and development.
About the School
A specialist school catering for children and young people with a range of complex needs, including Autism, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, and communication challenges. They provide a supportive and structured learning environment where every student is valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Staff focus on delivering an individualised curriculum tailored to the needs of each student, helping them develop essential life skills, confidence, and a love for learning.
The Role
As a Teacher, you will:
✅ Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons that cater to students’ individual learning needs.
✅ Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
✅ Support students in developing their academic, social, and emotional skills.
✅ Use a range of strategies and communication tools to support learning.
✅ Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to provide a holistic education.
✅ Implement behaviour support strategies that promote emotional regulation and positive interactions.
What We’re Looking For
✨ A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with experience or a strong interest in working with students with SEND.
✨ A patient, resilient, and empathetic educator who is passionate about inclusive education.
✨ Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
✨ An understanding of trauma-informed practice and sensory-based learning approaches (desirable but not essential).
✨ A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn new strategies.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
